Context
Title, employer, dates, product, team, or environment give the recruiter enough context to interpret the work.
Write a resume work experience section with clear roles, dates, responsibilities, achievements, scope, and job-relevant evidence that recruiters can scan quickly.

Quick answer
For each relevant role, list job title, employer, location when useful, dates, and a focused set of bullets showing what you did and why it mattered. Lead with recent target-relevant evidence, use verified outcomes or scope when available, and shorten older unrelated positions rather than giving every job equal space.
What matters most
Title, employer, dates, product, team, or environment give the recruiter enough context to interpret the work.
Bullets should describe your actions and ownership, not only the department's responsibilities.
Use verified results, delivered work, quality changes, scope, or decisions supported when they add meaning.
Inside PortCV
PortCV stores each role and its bullets as structured items, making it easier to reorder experience, tailor selected lines with Copilot, compare job terminology, and preserve factual dates and titles across resume versions.

Include the official or accurately clarified job title, employer, dates, and enough location or work-mode context when relevant. Use bullets for responsibilities, projects, decisions, improvements, and outcomes that help the target employer evaluate you.
Recent roles usually deserve more detail. Older experience can be summarized while preserving career continuity.
Guide 02
Start each high-value bullet with the work performed and add context, scope, and outcome as appropriate. Use action verbs accurately: led, coordinated, supported, designed, and contributed imply different ownership.
When you list work experience on a resume, keep the chronology easy to verify but let relevance control the amount of detail. A recent role that proves the target work may need four focused bullets while an older unrelated role may need only one or two lines.
Tailor by changing emphasis and terminology, not history. Move the bullets most relevant to the vacancy upward and compress routine duties.
Guide 03
Avoid duty-only phrases, invented percentages, inflated job titles, unexplained employment gaps disguised by false dates, or five bullets that all say the same thing. Do not paste job-description responsibilities into the section as if they were your experience.
Protect confidential client, patient, employer, or security-sensitive information when describing results.
Questions people ask
Often the most recent 10–15 years receive the most detail, but relevance and career context matter more than a strict cutoff.
Use enough to communicate the important relevant evidence. Recent roles may need more; older or less relevant roles can use fewer.
Use present tense for ongoing work and past tense for completed achievements. Previous roles are usually written in past tense.
